Art as a way of knowing.
Oleg Agafonov was born in a mining village near Tula. During his school years, he practiced in the studio of Regina Petrovna Solovyova, where he studied academic drawing and painting and alternative graphic techniques. In 2010, Oleg received his BFA from Tula State University. His work can be found in numerous public and private collections in Russia and Europe. His paintings participated in competitions and auctions. His latest series of works include “Falling Skies” and “Not a Wine Book.” The artist uses his experimental mixed-media technique that involves pastel, paper, acrylic, gold leaf, watercolor, and texture paste. The artist’s style has evolved from academic art to abstracting and continues to expand his practice, incorporating contemporary art trends into his work. Oleg Agafonov lives and works in Tula, Russia.
